HELLO SIOUX FALLS, We are here!!! Thanks for stopping by and checking us out.
My name is Stephanie Rinne, I am the Regional Manager, and am so incredibly excited to bring Creative Spirits to the Sioux Falls and surrounding area. Barb Clayton, the owner, is an amazing person to work for and I am so thankful that she chose Sioux Falls for her second location. We searched for the perfect studio location and found it with our Downtown Studio on Main Street across from Home Federal Bank. The art industry is really expanding in this area and we wanted to help contribute. We want to focus on keeping it local and do so by hand picking our artists from this area.
I dove into this paint and sip industry full force and am ready to go. I attended my first class with Christine, our lead artist, and was addicted right away. I also surprised my parents who both stated they “can’t even draw a stick person” and boy were they impressed with how simple it was and with the outcome of their paintings. I must admit my favorite part was the fun memories we created that day. I am looking forward to bringing those special moments to others as well. However, I wouldn’t be able to do this if it wasn’t for my artists. Creative Spirits has some very talented and passionate artists and know we will have fun, energetic paintings for everyone to enjoy. I am so proud and honored to have all of them as part of the Creative Spirit team.
Jillian says “I have been interested in art since I could pick up a crayon. I continued pursuing the arts in my high school art classes along with private art lessons throughout my teenage years. My senior year of high school I won 1st place in the Augustana art invitational as well as 1st place and Judge’s Choice at the regional high school art competition. I went on to study Studio Arts at the University of Minnesota and the University of South Dakota with an emphasis on both oil and acrylic painting.
Six years ago I decided to take a different artistic route and moved to Southern California to study Makeup Artistry. Since finishing school I have moved back to my hometown of Sioux Falls where I now live with my three year old daughter.
I continue to paint on a regular basis where my main focus has been on acrylic portraits. I have also been able to dive into makeup artistry with the brides and photographers of Sioux Falls. I feel very blessed to be a part of the Creative Spirits industry!
I can remember deciding that I wanted to be an artist when I was in sixth grade. I was drawing a portrait at the time, and had the realization that THIS is what I was meant to do forever.
I continued to have a love of the arts all throughout high school where I experienced my first commission as a professional artist. After high school, I studied at The Art Institute of Dallas, and received a degree in Visual Communications in 1997. I specialized in Graphic Design and Advertising, but my passion grew even more intense while working a job I had gotten in college as a mural painter. I would study art and design by day, and hand paint extravagant walls at night and on the weekend. I was in love with this creative outlet and opportunity to transform somewhat plain walls into life-like art for the people who lived in each home we visited. Soon I had realized the love and freedom of expression I connected with in sixth grade. I was inspired.
Today, and for the past 13 years, I have been a professional mural artist and decorative painter. For the first few years I continued to work as a Graphic Designer and then in 2002 I opened my first studio named Artworks in Tipton, Ia. It was there that I branched into the art of Decorative Painting and from that moment on painted on any surface I could get my hands on. From furniture to fabric and plain walls, I continue to do what I love most with Creative Spirits, alongside my two boys and husband.
I would also like to introduce you to our part time artists Brit, Ayla, Megan. These ladies are just as creative and talented and with all of their expertise I am confident we have a very strong team to bring you all the paintings you will take pleasure in creating.
